Erika and Evan are the kind of couple every wedding professional loves working with. They were thoughtful, organized, and truly pros when it came to planning their wedding. From the start, they had a clear vision and handled so much of the planning themselves. As the wedding approached, they knew they wanted support from a wedding professional to help manage the final details and make sure everything came together seamlessly.

That is where my team and I stepped in.

A Ceremony Rooted in Family and History

Erika and Evan were married at Evan’s childhood church in Manhasset, New York, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock (UUCSR). Choosing this space made the ceremony feel especially meaningful, as it was a place filled with memories and long-standing family ties. There was something really special about celebrating such an important moment in a setting that already held so much history for Evan and his family.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a ceremony that felt intimate and heartfelt.

A September Day Erika Always Dreamed Of

The wedding took place on a beautiful September day, a month Erika had always envisioned for her wedding. September holds special meaning for her, and it is hard to beat the weather that time of year. The crisp air, soft light, and early hints of fall created the perfect backdrop and made the day feel effortless. For the colors Erika leaned into the colors of fall: burnt oranges, greens, browns were seen throughout the day and tied so well together.

Day-of Planning Support and Timeline Management

Erika and Evan enlisted my team for our Day-of Coordination package and an ala carte add on of timeline creation. By the time the wedding weekend arrived, they had already done an incredible job planning the overall experience. Our role was to step in, take over the logistics, and ensure the day flowed exactly as planned.

Once on site, we began prepping for the day, coordinating with vendors, managing the timeline, and handling all of the behind-the-scenes details so Erika and Evan could stay present and fully enjoy their celebration. A great snap or Erika and I right before their first look!

Thoughtful Details and Meaningful Traditions

One of the most memorable parts of this wedding was how intentionally Erika and Evan incorporated their families and heritage into the day. Their families were an absolute joy to work with and played such an important role throughout the celebration.

Evan’s Afghan heritage was honored through a traditional family dance that truly captivated the crowd. It was joyful, powerful, and one of those moments guests will remember long after the night ended. During the speeches, Evan’s father surprised everyone by incorporating a harmonica into his toast, a moment that completely wowed the room and added such a personal and heartfelt touch.

These details were a beautiful reflection of who Erika and Evan are and the people who shaped them.

A Celebration That Felt True to Them

From start to finish, this wedding felt intentional, meaningful, and full of heart. Erika and Evan’s planning, paired with the love and support of their families, created a day that felt seamless and deeply personal.

It was an honor to support them during the final stretch and help bring everything together so they could truly enjoy every moment of their wedding day.
